This is a well made and nice looking heavy brass fireplace set with decorative detail. The brass needs cleaning and polishing to be pristine. The set is clean and they don't smell of smoke. The brass sleeves on the tools have small dents in places. The base has some green tarnish in crevices. Spotting, and tarnish can be found throughout. The tools show few signs of use in a fire. This fireplace tool set is in good used condition.
I do not know when or where they were made but they look to be vintage or antique. The matching handles on the tools and stand are made of solid brass. The damper hook has a clam shell handle that is made of solid brass. And the poker and tong ends are steel or cast iron. The tools have inner steel rods covered with brass sleeves and brass handles. The stand base measures about 10" wide x 8-1/2" deep x 1" tall. more with the exception of a steel inner rod. The stand is very decorative and is made of heavy solid brass.
